Joseph Giitter, Owner

Joe Giitter is recognized by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) as a Master Photographer, a Master Craftsman and a Certified Professional Photographer. Prior to opening a full-time portrait studio in the Fall of 2018, Joe was an instructor at the Washington (DC) School of Photography and a Senior Executive in the Federal Government. His Downtown Omaha-based studio, Bohemian Photoworks, is known for creating artistic portraits that utilize expert lighting and posing. Joe has received numerous recognitions and awards for his work, including the Imaging Excellence Award for sustained excellence in photography from the PPA (2023) and the Diamond Fellow of Photography Degree from the Professional Photographers of Nebraska (2025). His work has been exhibited at galleries in Washington, DC, and Omaha. Joe is currently pursuing an MFA in screenwriting and has created several short documentary films that have appeared at local and regional film festivals. He recently served as the President of the Professional Photographers of Nebraska and he is currently serving as the President of the Omaha Downtown Improvement District . He is also an Adjunct Professor of Photography at Bellevue University.
